Entries sought for art contest, exhibit

Artists are encouraged to enter their works in the First Annual Exhibit of the National Arts Program at Vanderbilt Medical Center, which will run Sept. 1 through Dec. 1 at Vanderbilt Health at One Hundred Oaks.

Several prizes will be awarded in adult and youth categories and will be presented at a reception and awards ceremony at One Hundred Oaks on Tuesday, Sept. 15, from noon to 2 p.m.

The National Arts Program is designed to give all artists, at all skill levels, an uninhibited opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional manner and to compete for cash prizes. The contest will be judged by professional artists and visual arts professionals in amateur, intermediate, professional and youth classifications.

To be eligible to participate, an artist must be a Vanderbilt employee, volunteer, retiree, faculty, student or family member. All entries submitted must be original works including paintings, works on paper, photography and mixed media.
