Vanderbilt University School of Medicine is hosting several events during a two-day V-Day Fair Feb. 16-17.
V-Day is an international effort to increase awareness of the plight of women and girls around the world who suffer abuse and oppression.
A highlight will be a benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
The performance, at 6 p.m. in Langford Auditorium, will feature a cast of faculty, staff and students, including Bonnie Miller, M.D., Cathy Pettepher, Ph.D., Joyce Johnson, M.D., Beth Ann Sastre, M.D., and others.
The V-Day Fair itself will take place in the north lobby of Light Hall and will feature information on a wide variety of issues relating to abuse against women.
Also, a panel discussion at noon on Monday, Feb. 16, in 202 Light Hall will focus on
“Understanding Sexual Violence and the Role of the Healthcare Professional.” RSVP to janelle.owens@vanderbilt.edu.
