Kimberly P. Brown, Ph.D. joined the VUMC faculty in 2002 as assistant professor of Psychiatry.

Brown graduated from Duke University with a bachelor of arts with distinction in psychology in 1995. She completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology with a concentration in law at the University of Alabama in 2000. Her dissertation was “Racial Bias in Criminal Sentencing and Verdict: The Role of Different Evaluation Standards.”

She is the director of the Vanderbilt University Forensic Evaluation Team, and an alcohol and drug group psychotherapist at the Woodland Hills Youth Development Center.

Brown’s past awards include the University of Alabama Clinical Service Award and the American Psychology-Law Society Dissertation Award.
