Daniel J. France, Ph.D. recently joined the Vanderbilt University Medical Center faculty as research assistant professor of Medicine.

France graduated from the University of Louisville in 1991 with a Master of Engineering degree in electrical engineering. He earned a Ph.D. degree from Vanderbilt in 1997, with areas of concentration and experience in biomedical signal processing, multivariate statistics, pattern recogntion, and medical imaging, to name a few.

He later earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Utah in 2000. Areas of concentration included epidemiology, biostatistics, and health services research.

Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, France worked at the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Va., as an electrical engineer and graduate fellow.
