Faculty Focus: Lynette Gillis, M.D.

Lynette A. Gillis, M.D., joined the faculty of Vanderbilt University Medical Center this summer as assistant professor of Pediatrics in the divisions of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition and Medical Genetics.

She received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa.

Previously, Gillis was a research post-doctoral fellow in the division of Human Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia. She was also an instructor at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and at Pennsylvania State Children's Hospital in Hershey.

Gillis' research focus is in metabolic hepatopathies, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, and neonatal cholestasis. She is also interested in seeing children with various genetic syndromes (such as Downs, Cornelia de Lange, and VCFS) in her GI clinic.
