Dr. Elizabeth Heitman
Dr. Elizabeth Heitman joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University Center for Clinical and Research Ethics as associate professor on Nov. 1.
Heitman received her Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Rice University’s interinstitutional program in medical ethics. She specializes in the ethical, cultural, and religious aspects of medicine and biomedical research.
Heitman was previously on the faculty of the University of Texas School of Public Health and Medical School in Houston, Texas. There she received several awards for outstanding teaching and mentoring.
Most recently, she was a member of the faculty of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.
