Faculty member to hold benefit recital Aug. 28

M. Kathleen Figaro, M.D., assistant professor of Medicine, will perform a music recital on Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. at Belmont United Methodist Church in Hillsboro Village.

Tickets are $10, and doors will open at 6:30.

Figaro, who in addition to her medical career is an accomplished singer, has performed at Princeton University with the university’s orchestra and the Princeton Players, as well as at Taplin Auditorium in Princeton, Riverside Church in New York City, and other venues.

The recital program will include works by Mozart, Andre Previn, Fernando Obradors, and Thomas Moore, as well as performances of traditional spirituals.

The recital is a benefit for the Healing Arts Center, a non-profit agency that uses arts such as dance and music to help the recovery of women who are in recovery from chemical addiction, and their children.
