Students, faculty, and administrators of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine descended upon the Opryland Hotel in force for the annual Cadaver Ball last Saturday.
The event celebrates the first-year medical students completing gross anatomy and is put on by the graduating fourth-year class each year.
This year, the date of the formal event was adjusted to match the new curriculum, allowing it to return to falling the day after the first-year class took their final exam.
The event was themed as Fast Times at Vandy Med and featured skits, music, and humorous short videos that ranged from a mock documentary of the “initiation” of Jeff Balser, M.D., Ph.D., as VUSM dean to parody songs of medical school life.
