VUMC’s department of finance launched a Web site recently to assist people with check requests, ledger sheets, or information on other financial procedures.
The site (http://finweb.mc.vanderbilt.edu) can be accessed from the VUMC home page under “Find a VUMC Web site” menu item, then select “Administrative Offices.”
The intended audience includes business officers, managers and administrators, administrative assistants and others who deal with financial information. The site is the work of the department’s Web site committee, chaired by Debora Shiflett, financial training manager.
Policies and forms previously available only in hard copy can be printed from the Web site. The site contains information on the budgeting process and other financial processes, a guide for business planning, a guide to the electronic time and attendance system, online training for topics such as check requests and reading ledger sheets, reference materials on Eclypsis/TSI (business decision support system) and links to other Vanderbilt financial sites.
The department of finance provides accounting and financial know-how for all areas of VUMC. Components of the department include the finance office, patient accounting, the VMG business office and VMG coding.
