Fine lands Dermatology award

Jo-David Fine, M.D.

Jo-David Fine, M.D., professor of Medicine (Dermatology), was given a Gold Triangle Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Academy of Dermatology July 21 at an awards ceremony in Chicago.

Fine, who also has a masters degree in public health and a secondary appointment in Pediatrics, was recognized for his more than two decades of research and clinical work on epidermolysis bullosa, a rare and severe genetic skin disease. In addition to his faculty position at Vanderbilt, Fine is head of the National Epidermolysis Bullosa Registry, housed at VUMC, which maintains data on more than 3,000 patients with the disease.
