Franklin Road Women's Health Center debuts new space

The Franklin Road Women’s Health Center hosted an open house at its new location in Berry Hill last week.

The center, located at 2410 Franklin Road, is part of a Federally Qualified Health Center cluster owned and operated by University Community Health Services with 19 faculty clinicians provided through Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.

The need for women’s health services at Vine Hill Community Clinic was so great, the practice needed more room to better serve patients. The move and physical expansion to a more than 4,000-square-foot-space with seven exam rooms plus a room for the centering pregnancy program, was funded by federal stimulus grants.

Comprehensive services include pre-pregnancy counseling, annual gynecological exams, Pap smears, family planning, colposcopy services and in-office LEEP procedures for women with pre-cancer and cancerous cells of the cervix.
