Free lead shielding inspections available

The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is providing free lead shielding inspections each Thursday in October from 3:30-11:30 p.m.

Visual and fluoroscopic inspections of personal protective lead shielding — such as lead aprons, lead vests and skirts, thyroid collars, gonadal shields, lead-lined gloves and vinyl-type mobile lead shielding — are required annually by Vanderbilt, the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

To schedule an inspection, contact David Martin at 343-0200, pager 835-5600 or e-mail david.martin@vander-bilt.edu. Inspections should be scheduled by Sept. 10.
