Nashville Mayor Karl Dean will be honored during the first annual Dunkin' Donuts Family Fun Run and Walk-a-Thon benefiting the T.J. Martell Foundation.

The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, at Hall of Fame Park downtown, and runners are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. Registration for the 5K run and walk is at 9 a.m. and the event kicks off at 10 a.m.

Participants will return to a family picnic, an ice cream party and children's activities in the Kids Zone, including an obstacle course, a double slide and a magician.

The T.J. Martell Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds for leukemia, cancer and AIDS research, supports cancer research at the Frances Williams Preston Laboratories at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. For more information, visit www.funrunandwalk.com.
