GirlForce, a health outreach program at VUMC that encourages preteen girls to make healthy lifestyle choices, will offer a free “Mother and Daughter Health and Fitness Workshop” on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The event, held at the Student Recreation Center from noon to 2:30 p.m., is part of Vanderbilt Employee Celebration Month. Vanderbilt employees or wives of employees and daughters, ages 9 to 15, are invited to attend.

Activities include kickboxing, dance aerobics, pilates, yoga, sword fighting and strength training with special sessions on body image, healthy eating, and smoking prevention. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required and space is limited.
