‘Go Red’ campaign gets rolling

“Go Red at Vanderbilt” is the message the American Heart Association wants to spread over the coming weeks as part of the Go Red for Women campaign.

On Jan. 24, a booth was set up in the VUH cafeteria to sell red bracelets and red dress pins in recognition of the national campaign.

The items, costing $5 each, will also be available on Monday, Jan. 31 at the same location from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The campaign, which focuses on women and heart disease, has several objectives, including heightening awareness, raising funds, influencing policy and providing educational resources for physicians on new treatment guidelines.

Employees who served as team captains for VUMC's annual Heart Walk will also have the bracelets and pins.
