The Nashville Chapter of the National Football League Player’s Association (NFLPA) held its celebrity Pro-Am recently at the Hermitage Golf Course, with proceeds benefiting Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

Jim Arnold, former Vanderbilt football star who later played for the Detroit Lions, and Scott Laidlaw, who played for the Dallas Cowboys and participated in two Super Bowls, led the Nashville Chapter. Tennessee Titan Craig Hentrich was among the professional football players participating in the tournament.

“With a majority of the golf tournament sponsors and participants from the Nashville area, we thought it best to keep the charity proceeds local,” said Arnold. “We decided to partner with Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and see how we could get involved with their new Children’s Hospital, which is currently under construction.”

Tournament activities included a Pairings Party at the Sheraton Music City Hotel. Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital CEO Jim Shmerling thanked those in attendance and shared the impact their gift would have for the children served at VCH. Former Miami Dolphin coach Don Shula hosted a Hall of Fame dinner during the week.
