Jay Groves, administrative director of the Kim Dayani Center, was recently awarded the Lotz Humanitarian Award by the Amiotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association at a dinner in St. Louis.
The annual award is presented to recognize an individual who has demonstrated devotion to paitent service and who has promoted quality of life and the welfare of patients with ALS and their families.
Groves was cited for both his personal involvment with two friends with ALS, as well as fund-raising activities.
He has been active in fund raising and education activities on behalf of the local ALS Association chapter, and was instrumental in the founding of an ALS benefit golf tournament which raised more than $100,000 over six years.
