The 2005 American Heart Association Heart Gala is being held Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center Presidential Ballroom. About 1,200 guests are scheduled to attend the 32nd annual event, Tennessee's largest black-tie affair.

The guest list includes Nashville's most prominent physicians, community volunteers and corporate supporters and is also the sixth largest social fund raiser for the American Heart Association. Vanderbilt University Medical Center has purchased four tables for the event. Tickets are $250 per person and each table seats 10 persons.

The dinner event includes silent and live auctions, entertainment and dancing.

It is estimated that the event will raise $760,000 in 2005 for the continued fight against heart disease and stroke, the nation's number one and three killers. Funds raised stay in Middle Tennessee and are part of more than $4 million funded annually to Vanderbilt University Medical Center's research facility.
