Hollender to direct VCH expansion initiatives

Jim Hollender has been named director of Children's Services Expansion Initiatives for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, effective March 17.

Hollender is currently the department administrator for the Department of Pediatrics, a position he has held since 2005.

Hollender will report to Kevin Churchwell, M.D., chief executive officer of Children's Hospital, and will work closely with the administrative team on initiatives including the redesign of the Space Committee and Programmatic Design and Space Planning for the expansion.

“We are very excited to bring Jim on board for the expansion. He brings a wealth of experience and strong relationships within the Children's Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics,” Churchwell said.

“I know that he will make many positive contributions to our expansion project.

Hollender joined Vanderbilt in 2001 as a manager for Medical Center Special Projects, has served as the privacy official for VUMC, and later as an associate director of the Department of Pediatrics.

Hollender earned a master's degree in Health Administration/Healthcare Finance from Temple University in Philadelphia.
