Holt’s service honored with latest CANDLE

Ginger E. Holt, M.D., assistant professor in Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, was chosen by students for October’s CANDLE (Caring, Advocating, Nurturing, Determination, Leadership and Empathy) Award.

The honor is given to individuals who have devoted themselves to teaching and mentoring. Recipients of the award are nominated and chosen based upon their positive impact on the lives of physicians-in-training, and are recognized by their students as examples of excellence in medical education.

“Dr. Holt shows an incredible dedication to educating and mentoring medical students,” said one of her nominators. “On an individual basis, she is always available to students to provide guidance and encouragement in pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery.”

“My education was truly enhanced by working with Dr. Holt. She is the kind of physician I hope to emulate in my own practice,” said another student.
