Beth Colvin Huff, a nurse practitioner and associate in Obstetrics and Gynecology and coordinator of the colposcopy clinic, has been elected to the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP) board of directors for the 2004-2006 term.
Established in 1964, the ASCCP is the organization of health care professionals committed to improving health through the study, prevention, diagnosis, and management of lower genital tract disorders. She is only the second nurse practitioner to serve on the board. She has been an active member of the society for 20 years and has been a faculty member at many of the ASCCP’s educational courses around the country.
She gave an invited lecture on “Colposcopic Techniques” at the society’s recent meeting in Orlando and presented a research paper titled, “The ASC-H Pap Test: Is HPV Testing Helpful?” Huff has been a member of the Vanderbilt Ob-Gyn department since 1980.
