Jacobson named to power list of health executives

Harry Jacobson, M.D., vice chancellor for Health Affairs, has again been named among the 50 most powerful physician executives in the United States by Modern Healthcare magazine.

The annual listing is culled from nominations submitted by readers of Modern Healthcare and its sister publication, Modern Physician.

Jacobson, who has overseen the phenomenal growth of Vanderbilt Medical Center during the past decade, was honored to be included on the list.

“It's very gratifying to be named alongside so many talented and forward-thinking physician executives,” Jacobson said. “But more than anything, I think this is further recognition of the hard work and effort of everyone at Vanderbilt to make this an institution that impacts society.

“Whether it's caring for patients, training the next generation of health care providers or conducting groundbreaking research, Vanderbilt is being recognized as a leader, and that's due to the commitment of the people here.”

Modern Healthcare, a weekly magazine written for hospital and health system executives, is an industry-intensive news source that regularly covers issues, news and trends affecting health care in the United States.
