Vanderbilt University School of Nursing continues its yearlong Centennial Lecture Series with a presentation on Jan. 15 by Martha Hill, Ph.D., R.N., dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.

She will speak on “Developing a Capacity for Nursing: Challenges and Opportunities.”

Hill served as president of the American Heart Association, the only non-physician to serve in that role.

She is a member of the Institute of Medicine and has worked to confront ethical and racial disparities in health care.

She is internationally known for her work and research in treating and preventing hypertension and its complications.

The lecture begins at 4:15 p.m. in Godchaux Hall Room 155, and is followed by a reception. Both are free of charge.
