The 2002 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk to Cure Diabetes will be held Sept. 21 at Centennial Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The walk will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes is a one-mile or a three-mile loop.

Dr. Steven Gabbe, Dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, is the 2002 Chair of the JDRF Walk. Gabbe was diagnosed with Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes more than 30 years ago.

Last year, people in Middle Tennessee raised $535,000 for diabetes through the JDRF Walk. This year, the goal is $630,000.

Vanderbilt’s team goal is $50,000 and 500 walkers. To sign up, contact Jill Forbert at 936-1368 or jill.forbert@vanderbilt.edu.
