Kennedy Center researchers are seeking participants to take part in a study examining brain activity in children with math and reading disabilities.

The ultimate goal of the study is to overcome math disabilities and to examine the changes in brain function that occur with remediation.

In the first phase of the study, brain activity will be mapped by MRI while the participants work on math problems.

Third- and fourth- grade students with math and/or reading disabilities, as well as those without math or reading problems, are needed for the study. The tests should take about three hours to complete.

Students will be evaluated at no cost to determine their eligibility to participate. Families whose children participate will be compensated for their time. For more information, call Erin Caffrey at 322-8291 by July 1.
