King named to national panel

Alan D. Cherrington, Ph.D., Charles H. Best Professor of Diabetes Research, spoke last week at the first of a series of informal lunches designed to raise awareness of research efforts within the Vanderbilt Diabetes Center. Joan King, Ph.D., associate professor of Nursing, was recently appointed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Certification to the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) Content Expert Panel.

King is the program director for VUSN’s Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program. She has been on faculty since 1975, and has directed the ACNP program at Vanderbilt since 1995. King was also one of original item writers (exam writers) for the ACNP exam in 1995 and 1996.
