There won’t be mountains and there probably won’t be snow, but the spirit will be same on Dec. 4 when country stars recreate the fun of Country in the Rockies right here in Music City.

The first Country in the Rockies Happy Hour at three Hillsboro Village-area restaurants will officially kick off Country in the Rockies 2002, which will be Jan. 29-Feb. 3 in Crested Butte, Colo. The annual celebrity ski weekend benefits the Frances Williams Preston Laboratories at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.

The event will feature Gary Chapman, Chely Wright, Brad Paisley and other entertainers tending bar, singing songs and performing other feats in exchange for donations to the T.J. Martell Foundation, which funds the Preston Labs.

Cover for the event is $25, which will permit entrance to the three participating restaurants: Sunset Grill, Easy’s and The Trace. The event will be 5-7 p.m.
