Mama Lere graduation

Mama Lere Hearing School at Vanderbilt, a preschool for young children with hearing loss, celebrated its graduation May 27 in Light Hall.

The school, located within the Bill Wilkerson Center, is for children who are learning to listen and speak through technology such as hearing aids or cochlear implants that enable them to hear and understand speech sounds.

All 31 children enrolled in the school participated in the ceremony, but kindergarten (5 children) is the only graduating class.
