On Monday, Jan. 21, two stalwarts of Civil Rights will speak at Vanderbilt as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Series, sponsored by the Schools of Medicine and Nursing.
“What the Lessons of the Past Can Tell Us About the Present and Future — A Dialogue” will feature:
• Bernard LaFayette Jr., Ed.D., former Freedom Rider and currently Distinguished Scholar-Residence and director of the University of Rhode Island's Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies; and
• John Seigenthaler, former editor, publisher and CEO of the Tennessean and founder of the Freedom Forum First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt.
The dialogue, which is free and open to the public, will be at noon in 208 Light Hall. q
