New scanner at Hillsboro Imaging

Vanderbilt Hillsboro Imaging has added a General Electric 16-slice CT scanner to its complement of diagnostic imaging equipment. The new scanner is capable of performing full-body CT examinations in less than 90 seconds.

“By having this technology, we're now able to use less intravenous contrast, perform exceptional angiography examinations that rival traditional angiography and arteriography and provide better image quality,” said Jeff Landman, M.D., medical director of Vanderbilt Hillsboro Imaging.

The new CT scanner complements the facility's recently acquired 3.0 Tesla GE MRI scanner, which creates images up to twice as fast and twice as clear as the clinic's previous MRI scanner.
