New system brings employee training documentation online

Managers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center no longer have to manually document their employees' completion of annual training requirements concerning patient privacy, standards of conduct and specific Human Resource workplace policies.

As part of annual job performance evaluations, managers in the past have been required to enter completion dates for these separate training modules into the Vanderbilt Performance Evaluation System (VPES).

Beginning this year, as the employee completes these online training modules, documentation of completion in VPES will be automatic. Yesterday, employees received e-mail messages pointing them to the separate online training modules; annual training requirements must be completed by April 2011.

Managers will still have to manually enter completion dates for annual safety training requirements, which vary considerably according to job position.
