New system to track VU employee training

New system to track VU employee training

Vanderbilt is rolling out an internal, Web-based system to deliver, track and manage all employee training.

It's called the Learning Exchange, and by early next year it will replace long-familiar systems at the Medical Center such as Web In-Service, Orientation Tracking, E-Train and Fin-Web Course Registration.

Rollout involves introducing the system to key administrators across the Medical Center and the University. All of VUMC will have migrated to the new system by the end of the year. The rest of the University will join next year.

Features of the system include self-service registration for e-learning and face-to-face learning; tools for creating and delivering interactive on-line training and assessments; and the delivery, tracking and reporting of job-based training.

Tools for creating online discussion threads and other collaborative learning vehicles will also be available. From safety education to orientation to leadership development, all staff and faculty training will be supported.

For more information and for separate system demos for learners and managers, visit the Learning Center's Web site, http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/thelearningcenter, or e-mail questions to mailto:learningexchange@vanderbilt.edu.
