Interpreters needed

The Department of Patient Affairs is currently seeking interested individuals to act as volunteer interpreters for the medical center’s non-English speaking patients and their families.

Weekdays, evenings and weekends are available.

At the present time, the most needed languages are Arabic, Khurdish and Spanish.

Those interested in serving on the Patient Affairs Language Bank can contact Deborah Jane Chadwick at 322-6154.

Nutrition funds

The Clinical Nutrition Research Unit will soon award up to $20,000 to fund pilot projects next year for new investigators who want to pursue nutrition research.

The pilot studies may be supported for research projects in three general areas: biomedical science; epidemiology; and model translation.

Interested candidates should submit letters of intent by Nov. 15 to David E. Ong, Ph.D., C-2104 MCN. For more information, call 343-7740.
