The Children's Miracle Network Champions broadcast will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and run through 5 p.m. Sunday.

Pinson honored

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center house staff recently honored Dr. C. Wright Pinson, professor of Surgery, chief of staff of the Vanderbilt University Hospital, and surgical director of the Vanderbilt Transplant Center, with its annual Grant W. Liddle Award.

The award was established in 1983 to recognize faculty members who demonstrate exemplary leadership in the promotion of scientific research at VUMC. The award is named for Dr. Grant W. Liddle, a world leader in endocrine research who led the department of Medicine as chairman from 1968 until his retirement in 1983.

The chief residents nominate faculty members for the award. The names of nominees are then submitted to the House Staff Advisory Council, which votes to select the recipient.
