Medical Center News and Public Affairs won three national awards in the annual Circle of Excellence Awards Program of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

The VUMC research magazine Lens, edited by Bill Snyder, won a Gold Medal in the College and University Special Interest Magazines category. Lens was selected for the top award out of 76 entries in its category from the United States and Canada.

The VUMC Video News Release program, which provides Vanderbilt-based television news stories to broadcast outlets all over the country, as well as some international outlets, also won a Gold Medal in the Video News Release category. The program director is Barb Cramer, who has won CASE awards for her work several times in the past.

House Organ, the VUMC monthly employee magazine, won a Bronze Medal in the Individual In-House Publications category. Wayne Wood is editor of House Organ, and is also director of Publications for News and Public Affairs.

“This is a clear indication of the kind of quality work that is done here, and I’m proud of our folks winning three national awards in one year,” said Bill Hance, director of News and Public Affairs.
