Next My Health Chat to focus on cancer research
The April program for My Health Chat will be the promising world of cancer drug discovery.
Panelists will be Lawrence Marnett, Ph.D., director of the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology, and Stephen Fesik, Ph.D., director of drug discovery at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
They will be discussing and taking questions about how information about the genetic drivers of cancer can be used to tailor treatments that are more effective and how new scientific methods are allowing us to target proteins once considered to be “un-druggable.”
Hosted by Vanderbilt University Medical Center and moderated by Jim Jirjis, M.D., assistant professor of Medicine, these 30-minute live interactive video chats offer the public a chance to hear from and ask questions of scientists and physicians on the leading edge of advances in medicine.
The event will be streamed live from 1:30-2 p.m. CST, April 11, on Facebook and at MyHealthChat.com.
