Patient Affairs moves in to new location in TVC lobby

The Office of Patient Affairs has moved to a new location in the lobby of The Vanderbilt Clinic.

Director Jodi Fawcett said the new space is more visible to patients and their families.

“We are now located in offices to the immediate right when you walk into the lobby of The Vanderbilt Clinic's main entrance. We are in such a great spot for patients and families to easily find us,” Fawcett said.

The office, which includes six patient advocates and one advocate assistant, serves as the centralized complaint and grievance mechanism of Vanderbilt Medical Center. It acts as an intermediary for patients and facilitates the flow of information between patients and the Medical Center community.

It also engages in crisis prevention by interpreting the institution's philosophies, policies, procedures, and services to patients and families while coaching staff on service recovery strategies.

The Office of Patient Affairs continues to have locations on the second floors of both the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt University Hospital.

Patients and families can stop by any office without an appointment. Staff and faculty can also share The Office of Patient Affairs phone number with patients and families, or staff can call on their behalf. To speak to or request a patient advocate, call 322-6154.
