Abraham Verghese, M.D., critically acclaimed author and senior associate chair for the Theory and Practice of Medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine, spoke at Vanderbilt last week for the Abraham Flexner Lectureship in Medical Education.
He urged his medical colleagues and those entering the medical profession to keep face-to-face contact with patients a primary focus of their practice.
