The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt recently welcomed a new addition to its neonatal transport fleet — the “Angel 1” ambulance now serving Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the neonatal transport program.

The ambulance is approximately 32 feet long and is stocked with state-of-the-art equipment to stabilize and transport two critically ill neonates simultaneously.
