Psychiatric disorders focus of symposium

The Seventh Annual Vanderbilt-Meharry Alliance Genetics Symposium will be held Monday, Sept. 25, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Children's Hospital Theater.

This year's symposium, “Genetics of Psychiatric Disorders,” will include presentations on the genetic basis of psychiatric disorders and genetic counseling and genetic testing for psychiatric disorders. The symposium is sponsored by Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and the Center for Human Genetics Research.

Keynote speakers include Christine Finn, M.D., Massachusetts General Hospital; Nelson Freimer, M.D., University of California, Los Angeles; and Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg, Ph.D., National Institutes of Mental Health.
