George Hill, Ph.D., helped showcase the importance of organ donation by riding the Donate Life Float in the New Year's Day Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, Calif. Hill, who lost a kidney after a serious fall, received a kidney from his stepdaughter, Nicole Hare, in 2006. "It is critical that all individuals consider organ donation," Hill said. "This is particularly important for members of minority groups who suffer disproportionately from diseases such as kidney disease."
