Wil Griffin, 3, of Hendersonville, Tenn., had fun this week at the Adventure Science Center at an event organized for patients of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Wil was diagnosed in 2002 with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and is currently receiving outpatient therapy. He is the Boy of the Year for the 2003 Leukemia Lymphoma Society's Man and Woman of the Year. The event at the Adventure Science Center was designed for children who have been confined because of their illnesses and needed a little unwinding. The center was closed to other visitors during the event to allow the children to wander and play from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wil is the son of Kim and Jim Griffin. (photo by Dana Johnson)
