Thirteen investigators were awarded Vanderbilt University Medical School-funded Intramural Discovery Grants starting this month. The recipients were chosen from a record number of 84 applicants. A total of $553,450 was awarded to the recipients for the first year.

The program consists of two different types of funding mechanisms intended to stimulate the development of new ideas. Faculty members are eligible for two categories of support: Interdisciplinary Grants and Pilot/Feasibility Studies. The next round of applications will be accepted this fall.
