Dr. John S. Sergent, VMG Chief Medical Officer, was one of 14 people appointed last week by Gov. Don Sundquist to steer TennCare’s new design on the TennCare Advisory Board.
“This outstanding group of professionals will guide the implementation and management of the new TennCare design so that Tennessee continues to lead the nation in progressive, financially sound health care policy,” Sundquist said. “The collective expertise of this board will ensure a more efficient, more accountable program that preserves health insurance for Tennessee’s neediest citizens.”
The 14 members will serve one- to three-year renewable terms on the TennCare Advisory Board, which will meet at least six times annually. Sergent will serve a two-year appointment.
