Service for those touched by cancer Nov. 9

A “Sacred Gathering: a Service of Healing and Hope for Anyone Touched by Cancer” will be observed at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Scarritt-Bennett Center.

Music will be provided by Dr. John Mulder, Karen Turner, Sandy Conatser, Stacy Beyer, and the Jump Gypsies. Speakers will be cancer survivors Dr. Philip Browning, Wendy Kanter, Felice Apolinsky and Karen Stroup.

The service in Wightman Chapel, 1008 19th Ave., S., will be followed by a reception at Gilda’s Club Nashville, 1033 18th Ave., S. Parking is available in the Scarritt-Bennett lot on 18th Avenue, South, next to Gilda’s Club.

The service is sponsored by the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center’s Pain and Symptom Management Program, Gilda’s Club Nashville, Vanderbilt’s Pastoral Care Department, and the Center for Parish Nursing.
