On April 11, 262 racers turned out for the first annual Shade Tree Trot, which took them on a 5K course around the Vanderbilt University campus.

The race, organized by Vanderbilt University School of Medicine's Advisory College Program, raised more than $26,000 for the Shade Tree Clinic, the free student-run medical clinic for the underserved population of East Nashville.
