Vanderbilt University School of Medicine students are holding a concert at 3rd and Lindsley Bar and Grille Monday, March 14, to raise funds to open a medical student-run free clinic.

The show will run from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and feature eight bands including The Fire, Everyday Atlas, Rhythm Method, Lost Dog, Sarah Bontrager, Angie Gibbons, Carpool and Eric Edwards. Tickets are $5 at the door.

The students hope to open the free clinic in late August at a location off Dickerson Pike at the juncture of the East Nashville, Bordeaux and Belshire neighborhoods. Initially, the students are planning to run the clinic two days a week.

“The clinic aims to reduce the barriers to care in this community by providing health care services, tests and screenings, as well as health education and social services,” said Kathryn Cleaver, a second-year medical student.
