The Dierks Bentley Miles and Music for Kids Ride and concert — which benefits the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt — was a roaring success last weekend.

Nearly 2,700 riders started out at the Harley-Davidson of Cool Springs dealership and ended their trek at the Tennessee fairgrounds at the Music City Motorplex.

A post-ride concert featured performances from Dierks Bentley and Jeff Foxworthy plus special appearances by Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, Randy Rogers Band and more.

Bentley told the crowd, “If I can take my love of music and bikes and turn them into a community event that can do something good for the children in this community, that's great.

“I have had so many people that I know and work with who have had children treated at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, so to see this come together like this has been an incredibly fulfilling experience.”

Bentley said he plans to do it again next year. The amount donated to the Children's Hospital should be known in a couple of weeks.
