Susan Wente, Ph.D., associate director of the Vanderbilt Medical Scientist Training Program, pins first-year medical student Tanner Freeman at a ceremony last month officially naming the program's six advisory colleges. MSTP students like Tanner will work with advising college faculty to facilitate student-advisor interactions. The MSTP Advising Colleges were named to honor Vivien Thomas, Ernest W. Goodpasture, Oswald T. Avery, Earl Sutherland, Stanley Cohen and Mildred Stahlman.
