Ronnie Dunn, right, Kix Brooks, center, and Gary Chapman, perform at the inaugural Stars and Guitars event held at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt Friday night. Through a partnership between the T.J. Martell Foundation and a variety of its music industry partners, the event raised a net of $75,000 to support research in the Frances Williams Preston Labs of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Guests of the event witnessed a private concert by Brooks & Dunn and received a limited edition Epiphone guitar made especially for the event.

Painter Rachel Kice created an original piece during the concert that was auctioned off for $6,500 at the end of the event. Kice and Emily Nelson, a young family member of a Children’s Hospital patient, had their artwork on each guitar.
